Guqin, recognised as a World Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2003, is a traditional Chinese musical instrument with a history of more than 3,000 years.
We were honoured that Ms Liu, who is from The Six Arts Education School, led the Upper Primary students of YWIS Rizhao to experience the charm of Chinese Guqin in the Chinese Studies Course.
Guqin is not only a musical instrument that delivers beautiful tunes, but also carries remarkable historical stories. For instance, the story of Fuxi who invented Guqin, and the story of Bo Ya and Ziqi who weaved close friendship through Guqin. The teacher's fascinating storytelling intrigued the students' strong passion and interest in this ancient instrument.
