    • The fifth of January 2021 was the day that marked the beginning of the second semester of Yew Wah International School of Rizhao. Our students couldn't wait to return to school and share their holiday stories with friends.

Excited children from the Early Childhood Education (ECE) section shared their adventures with classmates and teachers in the form of photos and posters. Using similar posters as well as articles and discussion topics, students in the Upper Primary section also shared the interesting highlights of their holidays.

"On a snowy day, I made a giant snowball in the yard,” said one. “I asked my brother if I could hit him with the snowball. However, he did not answer me because he was too busy running away.” This humorous anecdote from an Upper Primary student evoked peals of laughter in the classroom.

Students were not the only ones impatient for the school to reopen. There were other staff too who missed the laughter and chirping of the students.

To provide a safe learning environment for students, the cleaning team had thoroughly disinfected the school during the short winter vacation. The snow and ice on the grounds were swept clean and classroom carpets scrubbed to new life with the help of our Supply Department.

Food safety remains the top priority in the canteen. Fresh meat is always used at school to eliminate any risk of COVID-19 spread contracted through cold chain storage. All our kitchen staff are extremely vigilant when it comes to safeguarding the health of the children. These are all some of our unsung heroes working quietly and efficiently behind the scenes to keep things humming.
