The 2020/2021 school year at the Yew Wah International School of Rizhao started on August 19, 2020 and after a long summer holiday students were delighted to meet with teachers and friends.
As COVID-19 is still present in China, students need to follow strict school entry procedures including temperature checks and health code scans. Happy, healthy faces are what every staff member wishes to see.
At the beginning of this semester we welcomed many new friends. In order for new students to get to know each other quickly, the Lower Primary classes played “Passing the Ball” while calling out one another’s names.
Upper Primary students speedily learnt everyone's hobbies, favourite fruits, and favourite sports through the guessing game “All about Me”.
Our Early Childhood Education children were always in a cheerful mood unaffected by the recent rainy weather. The playground slide and tricycles were the favoured items. Other children helped the young drivers check their temperature too in adult fashion.
With the addition of newcomers, Primary students were divided into further groups. Within the same class, students were assigned to different classrooms with different teachers providing lessons and assistance based on the children’s foundation and abilities.
These young students will gain new friends and fresh knowledge over the course of the new semester.
