This week, the Primary students of Yew Wah International School of Rizhao finally returned to school. It indicated the beginning for a new daily campus life during the epidemic.
In the morning, the teachers greeted the students at the school gate whom they had not seen for a long time. We are delighted that on the first day of school, after the four-month break, the students looked very smart and much taller than the last time they were at school.
Before returning to school, teachers held an online meeting with parents to introduce the school’s entry process, required materials, timetable, etc. Thanks to the parents for their active co-operation, patience and understanding for the complicated process in this special period. With the support from parents, the children started their first day successfully.
We feel very sorry that the students who have to stay overseas and cannot come back to school on time, and meet their teachers and classmates. The teachers care very much about the e-learning of overseas students when the school re-opens. On the one hand, we must guarantee that online students can fully participate in the classroom interaction. On the other hand, we must ensure that every student gets enough attention, to provide the best quality e-learning.
After several days of discussion, the Academic Team confirmed a plan of having both online and offline classes at the same time. Online students can switch screens to see classroom interactions as well as clear presentations. The teachers tried to keep each student focusing on the classes by asking questions and reminding them at certain times.
We thank parents for their help and support in e-learning. In the future, we will pay more attention to the quality of the lessons, so that students can achieve good studying skills whether they are studying online or in school.
