    • Book Week at Yew Wah International School of Rizhao was celebrated from May 22-26, 2017. During the week, Lower Primary students had their reading time in the Library. “George” the huge Teddy Bear and “Penelope” the large fluffy dog were new additions to the library for Book Week and the students soon found that they were great soft reading chairs.

The Upper Primary students visited the Rizhao City Library to check out what the library can offer the citizens of Rizhao. They also participated in “Buddy Reading” sessions with Lower Primary students who read their favourite book to them.

The Librarian chose three special interest books for Upper Primary to focus on – Horrid Henry, JudyMoody and Moody Margaret. The students enjoyed participating in cross words, handmade post cards, door hangers and stamps that were related to the three books.

The book that the Librarian chose for Lower Primary was Mercy Watson, a story about a very mischievous pig who has many adventures.

Finally, to cap off the week, we had a Character Parade during assembly. The students dressed up as their favourite book character. Students also introduced their favourite book and favourite part of the book to parents. During the parade, we saw some amazing students from “Hogwarts” (Harry Potter), ghouls and ghosts, fairytale characters, Sophia, Comic book heroes and beautiful girls!
