    • Lower Primary students of Yew Wah International School of Rizhao have been studying and researching “Toys” in Topic. On November 18, 2016, two parents visited the classroom to share and talk about their favourite toy(s) and game(s) they played with when they were young.

One parent presented an informative power point titled “Do Any of You Remember the Games You Played as a Child?” At the beginning of her presentation she stated that children today don’t know the meaning of real games and rely on games on their iPads, play station and smart phones. “Back then, playing games was joining collective and outdoor activities rather than hunching over the TV or computer,” she said.

The power point then took the Lower Primary students on a “walk down memory lane” to show them the games children enjoyed playing between 1960 and 1980. For example, elastic/rubber band skipping, glass marble games, iron ring pushing, paper folding/origami, pick-up sticks, String games, sandbag (beanbag) game and so on.
