    • Francis Bacon said, “Reading makes a full man.” It means that reading is the foundation of wisdom and knowledge. Yew Wah International School of Rizhao encourages students to read more books. Let’s visit the library of YWIS Rizhao.

Inside the library, you will notice the bright, colourful environment and perhaps the changes the Librarian has made. There are four newcomers–four large Teddy Bears–sitting in the library! The place is now furnished with carpet, floor cushions and a large “reading chair” so students can sit and relax while reading their favourite books. There are also work-stations so children can do lesson work. We also have a “Read for Fun” bag for new books to introduce what is new in the Library.

According to the Librarian teacher who is from New Zealand, the library now boasts a variety of literature–picture books, chapter books, history books, science books, geography books and teacher resource books in Chinese and English language. The library collections have increased and this year we purchased several hundred reading books including “Big” books from abroad.

We hope the children will enjoy their new library and be inspired and to read one of the new books that are on the library shelf!
